Installation Source is not Available

If you get this error, and you go to the Event Log and get this response: Log scan number (315:248:1) passed to log scan in database ‘master’ is not valid. This error my indicate data corruption or that the log file (.ldf) does not match the data file (.mdf). If this error occurred during replication, re-create the publication. Otherwise, restore from back up if the problem results in a failure during the startup. You will then need to go to the SQL Server Log file located at C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Boot Strap\Log\Files You will then change to “Details View” if not already there, then sort by Date.

You should find the most recent “ …SQL.LOG” File there and be able to open it. You will then scroll to the bottom of the log and find the error code, or issue… If the issue mentions “ Installation source for this product is not available”, then you can go to this website… Click on the “ Microsft FIX IT” button where it says, “ FIX THIS PROBLEM”.
