Duro-Last®, Inc. + Estimating Edge® Teaming Up Together

 

This video will show you how to download the Duro-Last product listing spreadsheets from box.com, then uploading those spreadsheets into your company’s database using your EDGE Administration Portal.

 

  • How to download the spreadsheets from box.com
    1. Go to the email that came from marketing@estimatingedge.com and click on the hyperlink underneath the section “Download the spreadsheets.”
    2. This will bring you to box.com.
    3. Click the “Download” button in the top right corner, and a zip folder will be downloaded to the “Downloads” folder on your computer, with all of the spreadsheets in it.
    4. You will need to “unzip” the folder, so right click on the folder and click “Extract All.”
    5. A pop-up window will appear, click the “Extract” button.
      Note: each spreadsheet is given a number, but only the names of the spreadsheets are actually important.
      Note: the last spreadsheet is named “Misc”, which is important.

After you have downloaded the spreadsheets, go back to The EDGE.

  1. Click the grey gear in the top right corner to go to the Administration Portal.
  2. On the left side of the screen click on the drop down arrow next to “Database.”
  3. Scroll down to the bottom where the “Upload Item Templates” and “Upload Misc Items” options are shown.
  4. You will use the “Upload Item Templates” button to upload the first 15 spreadsheets one at a time.
    • Once you click this button, a pop-up window called “Enter Item Code” will appear.
    • Type in the name of the first spreadsheet that was downloaded from box.com (just the word ex. roll)
    • Click “Find.”
    • A pop-up window will open.
      Note: the first thing you need to do is fill in the check box in the top left corner for “Header Row,” because that will populate all of the columns correctly.
    • Click the “Browse File” button.
    • Locate the spreadsheet that needs to be uploaded, click on it, then press the “Open” button.
      Note: The columns on the right should now be populated.
    • Click the “Upload” button.
    • A green bar with a checkmark should appear in the upper right-hand corner signaling that is has successfully uploaded.
      Note: You will uploaded the first 15 spreadsheets this way, individually.
  1. You will then use the “Upload Misc Items” button to upload the Misc Spreadsheet, which is the 16th spreadsheet.
    • Click “Upload Misc Items.”
    • Fill in the “Header Row” check box.
    • Click the “Browse File” button.
    • Scroll down to the spreadsheet that says “MISC” and click on it.
    • Then click “Open.”
    • Make sure everything is populated in the right hand column, and click “Upload” when you are ready.
    • Look for a green box in the top right corner to make sure it was successfully uploaded.
