How to Digitize Manual Crickets

Overview Manual Crickets:

A specialized icon for the Roofing contractor. There are two icons are used for calculating material and labor for Crickets, and there are two methods for calculating Crickets. The first is a more manual method where you have to draw the entire Cricket, the second method is called Auto-Cricket where you digitize the limits of the Cricket and The EDGE does the rest.

1. A roof was laid out according to the dimensions shown on the plan. Then the Cricket was laid out using Locate as indicated by the Pink Crosses.

2. Cricket was selected and the perimeter digitized. When using manual draw to draw crickets always draw the low line first. In this case that is points 1 and 2.

3. Digitize point 3.

4. Digitize point 4. and press Enter.

The EDGE fills in the first quarter panel of the Cricket and automatically generate the high-to-low arrow.

5. Digitize the next quarter panel the same way as the first. Digitize the low line first. Press Enter when finished.

6. Digitize the next quarter panel the same way as the first. Digitize the low line first. Press Enter when finished.

The EDGE fills in the third quarter panel of the Cricket and automatically generate the high-to-low arrow.

7. Digitize the next quarter panel the same way as the first. Digitize the low line first. Press Enter when finished.

The EDGE fills in the fourth quarter panel of the Cricket and automatically generate the high-to-low arrow. The Cricket has been digitized and quantified.
